(criminal) High hardware prices cause piracy, says Ballmer

Ballmer Blames Software Piracy on Spendy Hardware, or: What I'd Do with a Hundred Bucks | Linux Journal

Can someone tell me what planet this guy is living on?

Ballmer claims people pirate software because the hardware is too costly. Anyone who knows the hardware business knows that the margins are the slimmest, and no hardware company has as much cash in the bank as Microsoft.

Oh, and here's a great quote from that article:

"Before they use Linux, people often have the idea that computers are ambiguous, capricious or even malignant machines out to get them. Install Linux, however, and you get the same computer from day to day, which is why I like using it."
